Description
Each pair will be named for a British county that has played an important role in the Company’s history. The first two pairs of matching pencil and ball pen, the Shropshire and Northumberland , are both inspired by originals from the Company’s 1930s archives.
Following the second world war Yard-O-Led moved from its original premises in London’s Hatton Garden, which had been destroyed during the Blitz, to Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and since then the majority of their skilled silversmiths have lived within the beautiful county of Shropshire.
While Shropshire is now their home, that of the largest British retail chain of writing instruments, The Pen Shop, is in Northumberland and Yard-O-Led have adopted this as the name for the second design in this historic series as part of the ongoing partnership between the two companies.
